Production Policy

Due to the nature of our business and products, the following terms and conditions govern Production at The Rail Nigeria.

This policy operates separately from our Delivery Policy (available [HERE]), Terms & Conditions ([HERE]), and Privacy Policy ([HERE]). By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the policies outlined below.

Ready-To-Wear (RTW) & Made-To-Order (MTO)

At The Rail Nigeria, we offer both Ready-To-Wear (RTW) and Made-To-Order (MTO) items.

  • Ready-To-Wear (RTW): In stock and available for dispatch after standard processing
  • Made-To-Order (MTO): Produced specifically for each customer before dispatch

Items marked “in stock” indicate availability for production and may not be immediately ready for shipping. Additional processing time may apply before dispatch.

Production Time

  • Production for Made-To-Order items takes 7–21 business days
  • This timeframe is an estimate, not a guarantee
  • Items may be dispatched at any point within this timeframe
  • There is no express or expedited production option

⚠️ Production time does not include delivery time. Delivery timelines begin only after production is complete and the item has been dispatched.

When Production Begins

Production is deemed to have commenced once:

  • Payment has been confirmed, and
  • Fabric has been allocated, cutting has begun, or construction has started

Once production has commenced, orders cannot be cancelled, modified, or refunded.

Urgent & Time-Sensitive Orders

If you require an item urgently or for a specific event date:

  • Confirm availability before placing your order
  • Ensure the item does not require additional production time
  • Clearly state the required date in the order notes
  • Contact us via website instant chat before purchasing if unsure

While we make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests, production timelines are not guaranteed, and we cannot accept liability for missed event dates.

Fabric Availability & Production Delays

If fabric required for a Made-To-Order item is temporarily unavailable:

  • Sourcing the fabric may extend production time
  • Customers will be notified where applicable

Our plain fabrics are restocked in limited runs. As a result:

  • Minor variations in colour, texture, or finish may occur
  • These natural variations are part of the production process and do not constitute a defect or fault

Custom Colours

Custom colour options are available on select styles for an additional fee.

Please note:

  • Custom colour orders are final sale
  • Shade variation may occur due to dye lots, fabric batches, and screen differences
  • Exact colour matching cannot be guaranteed

Custom colour variations are not grounds for cancellation, refund, or exchange.

Sizing Matters (Customer Responsibility)

Customers are responsible for selecting the correct size before placing an order.

  • Please use our Size Guide carefully
  • If unsure, we recommend submitting professional measurements in inches (bust, waist, hips, length, etc.)

We cannot be held liable for:

  • Self-measured sizing
  • Aspirational sizing
  • Incorrect or incomplete measurements provided by the customer

Fit Promise (Scope & Limits)

Our Fit Promise applies only when:

  • The correct size is selected using our Size Guide, or
  • Accurate measurements are provided by a professional tailor

We cannot guarantee fit if measurements are inaccurate, self-taken, or based on personal preference rather than actual body measurements.

Custom Sizing & Amendments

  • We do not create custom garments using self-taken measurements
  • Custom sizing requires professional measurements where offered
  • We do not offer alterations, amendments, or length adjustments on RTW items.
  • Ready-To-Wear items cannot be customised to personal size or length

Split Orders & Dispatch

Orders containing both Ready-To-Wear and Made-To-Order items may be dispatched separately, depending on production timelines. Customers will receive tracking details for each shipment where applicable.

Production Approval & Previews

Production proceeds based on the order placed.
We do not provide progress updates, previews, or approval photos before dispatch.

Final Notes

By placing an order with The Rail Nigeria, customers acknowledge that:

  • Production timelines are estimates
  • Fabric and colour variations may occur
  • Orders cannot be cancelled once production begins
