International Shipping Rates

The Rail Nigeria currently uses DHL for all international shipping.

This policy operates alongside our Delivery Policy, Terms & Conditions, and Returns & Exchanges Policy. By placing an international order, you agree to the terms outlined below.

Shipping Rates & Estimates

🌍 International shipping rates vary by destination and are influenced by:

  • Country of delivery
  • Currency fluctuations
  • Fuel surcharges
  • Final parcel weight and dimensions

All shipping rates shown at checkout are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Weight Limits & Additional Shipping Charges

Due to fabric weight, design, and packaging:

  • Final shipping weight cannot be confirmed until the shipment is with the courier
  • A base shipping fee is charged at checkout
  • Some orders may exceed the paid weight limit

If your package exceeds the weight paid for:

  • You will be notified of the additional shipping cost
  • The package will not be dispatched until the excess fee is paid

🚫 If additional shipping fees are not paid within a reasonable timeframe, The Rail Nigeria reserves the right to hold or cancel the order. Shipping fees already incurred are non-refundable.

📦 We have previously shipped in good faith where excess fees were refused, resulting in losses. To avoid delays or cancellation, please ensure you are prepared to cover any additional shipping costs if required.

Shipping Fee Guidance

  • Shipping fees primarily apply to destinations such as USA, Canada, and the UK, but may be higher for other countries
  • While 2–3 outfits may fit within 2kg, this is not guaranteed
  • Final shipping costs are confirmed only at shipping stage

Once shipping is booked and dispatched, shipping charges cannot be renegotiated or refunded.

Customs Duties & Import Fees

🚫 Customs duties, import taxes, and clearance fees are NOT included in shipping costs.

✔️ Customers are responsible for confirming whether their country applies import duties before placing an order.

For international orders:

  • Customs charges are set by the destination country
  • Fees are payable directly to DHL or the local customs authority upon arrival
  • The Rail Nigeria has no control over these charges and cannot estimate or waive them

🇺🇸 United States Orders:


Due to recent US Customs regulations, shipments entering the United States may incur additional duties or taxes upon arrival. These charges must be paid before delivery can be completed.

If customs fees are refused and a parcel is returned, held, or destroyed, no refund will be issued, and all associated shipping or handling costs will be deducted where applicable.

Customs Inspections & Delays

International shipments may be delayed due to:

  • Customs inspections
  • Regulatory checks
  • Port congestion or government controls

Such delays are outside our control and do not constitute grounds for refunds, cancellations, or chargebacks.

DHL Handling, Packaging & Odour Notice

📦 DHL may open and repack parcels as part of their international handling and security procedures.

  • While we pack all orders securely, we cannot seal packages once handed to DHL
  • We take steps to minimise repacking where possible

✈️ Due to aircraft storage conditions, repacked parcels may occasionally carry a diesel or petrol odour.

Please note:

  • Odour resulting from shipping or aircraft storage does not indicate a defective product
  • Such issues are not grounds for refunds or exchanges

Risk Transfer & Delivery Responsibility

Once an order is handed over to DHL:

  • Risk transfers to the customer
  • Delivery timelines and handling are the responsibility of the courier
  • Damage, delays, or issues caused during transit must be addressed with DHL

Parcels marked as “Delivered” or “Released by Customs” are considered successfully delivered.
