About The Rail

Our Story

The Rail began with a problem we lived with for years.

We were Nigerian women living abroad, and we couldn't find clothes that fit. Not the way they were supposed to. Not on tall frames, not on full hips, not on the bodies most fashion brands quietly leave out. The pieces we did love rarely came in our size, and the pieces in our size rarely felt special.

So when we came home to Nigeria, we built what we couldn't find.

We started The Rail in 2023 with a small atelier in Abuja and a clear idea: design clothes that sit properly on real bodies, in fabrics that earn their price, made by people we know by name. We work in limited runs because that's the only way to keep the work honest. We pay our tailors well above minimum wage because they're the reason any of this exists.

Some pieces we make once. Some we make in tens. Almost none, we make again.

We're a Nigerian house, made for women everywhere.
