Some days she doesn't want to be understated. She's not going to an event. There's no dress code. She just feels like arriving — to brunch, to the salon, to the market with her girls, to the rooftop at 4 p.m.
The Irede is for those days.
Named from the Yoruba she comes, she arrives — because even in a cotton skirt and a simple top, she's not blending in. A plaid maxi this good doesn't need an occasion. It makes one.
The Piece
A structured high-rise yoke sits smooth across the hips, then bursts into gathered volume at a drop-waist seam trimmed with a delicate ruched ruffle. Floor-skimming A-line sweep. Deep side-entry pockets hidden in the seam. Substantial cotton plaid in navy, rust, oxblood, and ochre — a colorway that holds up in harmattan light, rainy-season afternoons, and every golden hour in between.
Each piece is cut, gathered, and finished by hand in our Abuja atelier. The drop-waist seam alone takes four times the labor of a standard waistband.

How to Wear It
Easy daytime: A fitted white tee, clear mules or flat sandals, gold hoops, hair in a slick bun. The skirt does everything. You don't need to try.
Elevated afternoon: A ribbed tank or off-shoulder knit, kitten heel or block-heel mule, a small top-handle bag, gold layered chains. Polished without performing.
Vacation day: A cropped tank or linen bralette, flat gold sandals or barefoot, oversized sunglasses, a basket bag, sun-warmed skin. The skirt travels better than anything else in the suitcase.

Available in UK 6 — UK 22. Please refer to our size guide. If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up — the drop-waist sits best when the yoke has ease.
Length: 45 inches (114 cm) from waistband to hem.
Care
Cold hand wash or gentle machine cycle with similar colors. Do not tumble dry. Iron on low with a pressing cloth. Store folded.

The Rail Nigeria offers both Ready-To-Wear and Made-To-Order items. This means that some items may be available for immediate dispatch, while others require production.
Production Time: Production can take between 7 to 21 business days. There is no express production option. Items may be dispatched anytime within this timeframe.
Custom Size & Amednments: We do not make custom items using measurements. Please shop using our size guide. We do not offer alterations or amendments.
